In the months leading up to summer 2021, it is unclear what we can do to provide services to our community, which involves the importance of human connection enjoyed by Rotary former members. Even though the "hands facing space" mantra is sure to be a part of the regular routine at the club it is clear that the feeling of security is growing and more members have been able to make connections face-to-face. In a recent Rotary survey, it was encouraging to see that around 75% of clubs have started making plans for their "business routine events" The summer months have seen many members out and about focussing on various projects like river and beach cleans litter picking, and of course the ongoing service to society from Rotary volunteer teams giving their time and energy to help COVID testing and vaccination centers. I'm so grateful that Rotary offered me the opportunity to join the club in 2002. Rotary has provided me, just as it has for so many others, with a network of like-minded, trustworthy people from which I've developed genuine friendships over the past 20 years. We should now be sharing Rotary and encourage our families, friends and colleagues to join us as members of the most amazing world-wide network in which you truly are able to make a difference.
